A refreshing fruit salad is the perfect complement to summer. Just like friends are the perfect complement to brunch. Thankfully last week I got to enjoy both! My dear friend Alexis (Chemistry Cachet) and I decided to get together and host a hormone/allergy friendly, farmhouse theme brunch. The whole idea was to enjoy each other talents all while bringing y’all great recipes and inspiration.
My contributions to the menu for brunch was a nice cool, refreshing fruit salad and a fruit spritzer. Alexis provided the rest of the hormone and allergy friendly foods, like Frozen Fruit Cake with Cherry Raspberry Jam that’s live on her blog now (link here)! Sounds amazing right? It was incredible and so hard to believe it wasn’t made with gluten, dairy, or EGGS!
I also provided the table layout and theme. I chose the farmhouse theme because I love the simplicity of it. The mix of vintage and modern brings a nice feminine touch to your layout and lets you throw a little personality in there. I will share way more details in a later blog post this week. I’ll give y’all a step by step guide to putting together a fun, and easy table setup that will surely have your friends talking for weeks!
Now, let’s talk about that refreshing fruit salad real quick. It’s super easy to whip up and the longer it marinates the better it gets. I decided to make my fruit salad with fresh watermelon, blueberries, and mint. - Watermelon offers you up to 20% of your daily Vitamin C intake, 17% of your Vitamin A intake, antioxidants, and it’s more than 90% water so dehydration be gone!
- Blueberries are incredible, this little berry packs so much nutrition in such a small package. They contain Vitamin K and C, Lutein, and the antioxidant Gallic Acid, just to name a few. Needless to say it helps your brain, inflammation, digestion, and aging!
- Mint has several health benefits a few among those are it’s antiseptic properties and aids in digestion.
For a simple refreshing fruit salad, this sucker packs a mighty health punch!

What pairs nicely with a refreshing fruit salad? How about a refreshing fruit spritzer. I highly recommend making this about two hours in advance so the fruit can infuse with your water. This recipe is super simple, you can change it to your liking very easily, and you can add alcohol to it for a real good time!
